What is a Circle Based Officer (CBO)?
Circle Based Officers are posted within a specific SBI Circle. They handle branch-level responsibilities like loan approvals, customer service, audits, and compliance. Unlike Probationary Officers (POs), CBOs are not transferred outside their circle, making it a regionally stable role.
Salary Structure
The starting basic pay is ₹48,480/– with four advance increments in the scale of:
₹48,480 – 2,000 × 7 – ₹62,480 – 2,340 × 2 – ₹67,160 – 2,680 × 7 – ₹85,920
Including HRA, DA, CCA, medical, and other allowances, monthly gross salary may go up to ₹85,000 – ₹1,00,000 depending on the posting location.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- A graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Equivalent qualifications like CA, ICWA, CS, MBA, etc., are acceptable.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years (as on April 30, 2025)
- Born between: May 1, 1995, to April 30, 2004 (both inclusive)
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD: 10–15 years as per category
Experience Required
Minimum 2 years of experience (as of April 30, 2025) as an officer in a:
- Scheduled Commercial Bank, or
- Regional Rural Bank (RRB)
Language Proficiency
Must be proficient in the local language of the Circle applied for (reading, writing, speaking, understanding).
